Project
aims
Agroforestry and mangrove revival
In partnership with Graine de Vie, the Voa Aina project aims to establish climate resilient agroecosystems to support sustainable food production across Eastern Madagascar. For this purpose, a planting strategy is developed hand in hand with the participating communities. The project enables communities and smallholders to nurture the trees they desire in their neighborhoods. The seedling-based approach fosters ecosystem restoration, mangrove rehabilitation and food production under agroforestry.
Project
impact
Engage with fishermen and smallholders during project design, tree planting and valorization of their fruit, fish, shrimp and crab trade.
Boost biodiversity in the endangered global biodiversity hotspot of Madagascar.
Strengthen climate resilience through carbon sequestration in mangroves, soil and biomass.
